Hong Kong has a range of hotel options across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories. The race is from the south of Hong Kong Island (Southern District / Southside). There are a few hotels in this area:

Transport
Hong Kong Southern District is easily accessed by bus, mini bus, taxi, uber and MTR (to Ocean Park).
Bus - buses run from Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, stopping near Middle Island Clubhouse
Numbers - 6, 6X, 260, 63, 65, 973, 73 (please note some run more frequently than others)
Mini buses - the numbers 40 and 52 run from Ocean Park MTR Station to near Middle Island
Taxis & Uber - are reasonably priced. Ask them to take you to 52 Island Road.
